Dr. Jesse Navatta

Dr. Jesse Navatta (they/them), DVM LVT CVAT, is a community-centered practitioner originally from Queens, NYC. They have been working in the veterinary field since high school, starting as a kennel assistant before acquiring their Associate's degree and becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician. After graduating from Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017, they moved to Chicago to begin working in both shelter and private practice settings.

As a firm believer in the importance of the human-animal bond, Dr. Navatta enjoys practicing medicine where the whole family is involved and believes this relationship looks different for every family. Leading with compassion and empathy, Dr. Navatta is a Pet Loss Support Certified practitioner. They are also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncture Therapist (CVAT) and are very excited to bring this service to Bramer Animal Hospital.

Being passionate about increasing belonging and inclusion in veterinary medicine, they are heavily involved in organized veterinary medicine. They are a board member for the Pride Veterinary Medical Community (PrideVMC), the facilitator of Veterinary Medical Interconnected (VMI), as well as a mentor for both Pawsabilities and MentorVet.

Outside of vet med, they enjoy life in their garden, spending lazy afternoons with their cat, and connecting with nature.
