Diagnostic and Preventive Health Care Bramer Animal Hospital can offer many of the most up to date diagnostic services within our facility. Ultrasonography as well as digital dental radiography are available. We also do in house cytology, blood chemistries, blood counts, and urine and stool analysis. We feel we also offer the most current recommendations in preventive health care especially with offering new vaccination protocols. Please feel free to ask any questions of our veterinary staff regarding either of these important animal health topics.
Anesthesia Anesthesia.
Surgery Our surgical suite has only one purpose and that is to provide for aseptic (sterile) surgical procedures to be performed. Our patients are completely monitored and spend their time in this room on a heated circulating water blanket and hooked up to maintenance intravenous fluids. In addition to keeping our patients warm, monitored, and hydrated, preemptive pre and post operative pain control are utilized in every patient.
Dentistry We perform dental scaling and polishing (prophys) for dogs and cats. To do this we utilize ultrasonic scaling technology and a high speed polishing unit. In addition during the dental procedure, we evaluate the oral cavity for health and offer solutions for diseased teeth and gums (gingivitis). We also can perform digital dental x-rays to better diagnose and treat dental disease in your pet.
Diagnostic Imagery We offer both diagnostic radiology services and ultrasonography. Our radiology section includes general radiology and digital dental radiography. We have the capabilities of sending ultrasound images through the internet for consultation and evaluation by board certified veterinarians of many disciplines to help us reach a diagnosis for your pet.
Laboratory We offer a wide variety of laboratory services, many of which are done in-house by our trained technicians. We also utilize IDEXX Veterinary Services, Antech Diagnostics, and a number of other diagnostic laboratories to offer complete access to current and relevant diagnostic testing for our companion animals.
Prescription Diets & Nutritional Consulting We carry a full line of specialized diets for the various medical conditions in which they would be indicated for. The manufacturers of these diets include Hills Pet Nutrition, Iams Company, and Royal Canin Company. We attempt in all cases to utilize what we believe is the best product for each patient's medical condition.

Complete Pharmacy We keep and maintain a complete pharmacy mostly with animal specific products for your convenience. We also maintain a strong relationship with Island Pharmacy Services, to get medications not commercially available made to animal specifications when needed.

Therapeutic Bathing For those patients needing specific skin care medications (medicated baths and dips), we have a trained staff to perform this service.
Hospitalization and Nursing Care We provide patient care and monitoring during the day with our staff and facilities. We utilize circulating water blankets to maintain warmth and fluid pumps to administer fluids to those patients needing this level of care.
Boarding of Small Dogs & Cats For your convenience, we offer boarding services for cats and those dogs under 30 lbs requiring medical treatments on an ongoing basis. Any boarding of a dog for medical reasons must be approved by one of our staff veterinarians.
